Customer Care
Introduction
We encourage the general public to send or discuss with
its members all the complaints and suggestions aimed for
giving a better service. The Unit is also responsible for
Media programmes dealing with Central Public Library throughout
the various television/radio stations and all Maltese newspapers.
Members for the Central Public Library are enrolled on the
spot provided that clients present their ID card on enrolment,
while it is not necessary anymore for parents to produce
birth certificates when signing up their children.
Activities held by the Customer Care Unit during the year:
Story Telling
A 1 hour educational programme aimed
for children aged 4-7 years, which is organised every Friday
during the
months
of November-May with a special final one in June presided
by the Hon. Minister of Education. During the programme
children are trained to build up self confidence and
introduce reading in a very natural way. Children are
encouraged
to attend with their parents or guardians.
Kemm
Inhobb Naqra!
A 1 hour educational programme aimed
for children aged 8-10 years, which is organised every Wednesday
during
the months
of November-May. During the programme children are encouraged
to take part in various discussions and are introduced
to the world of internet. Quizzes and Story Telling are also
good
ingredients to make this programme a very popular one with
children. Children are encouraged to attend with
their parents or guardians.
Il-Pjacir
Taghna Nitkellmu Maghkom
A monthly three hour educational
programme between Jan-May aimed for parents of those
attending the
above named programmes.
Various topics related with the importance of
reading are discussed together with an introduction
of the services
offered by the library.
Orientation Visits Orientation visits by students and persons from other
entities are organised throughout the year upon an
appointment made
by phoning directly to the Customer Care Unit. Newsletter
A newsletter, Frak
tad-Deheb, is published quarterly
during the current year by the same unit.
Latest acquistions at the Central Public
Library are given prominence together with
interesting information about the library
world.
