The Adults and Junior Sections of the Central Public Library offer a wide range of books (non-fiction and fiction). Collections are arranged on the shelves in the following manner; non-fiction in numerical sequence by their Dewey classification number and fiction in alphabetical order according to the first three letters of the author's surname.

Access to the Online Catalogue is through various points within the Library or from within this Web page. Searches vary from author, title, subject, class or ISBN number and are conducted by a browse or keyword search.

The books for the very young are graded and there is also a collection of books marked 'intermediate' fiction for the young adults. In the Adult library there is a special collection of Large Print Books, which is very popular with old age people and people with a visual difficulty. There is also a Melitensia collection where books can be borrowed from the Adult Library.

The personnel at the counters are ready to help in retrieving material and offer instruction regarding the use of the online catalogue. Members of the public are also invited to give their views regarding any material they desire to have in the library while suggestions are also welcome.
