Chief Secretary to Government (CSG)

One of the main fonds available for research at the National Archives of Malta are the records of the Chief Secretary to Government. This office was responsible for the day-to-day running of local matters during the British administration in Malta. The group which consists of thousands of records is sub-divided into 54 series. These are listed below. Till now the National Archives has compiled a detailed catalogue of the CSG03 series. However, for most of the other series one can consult original indexes included with the records, or trace particular events by zooming down on particular dates.
