Visits
Group Visits
We strongly believe that our national archival holdings
are worth seeing and appreciating. Group visits provide
valuable occasions for the non-specialists to appreciate
the wealth of our archives. Group visits can be arranged
for groups of not more than 25 persons. Such visits
include a talk about the mission, history and collections
of
the National Archives. In certain cases, a behind-the-scene
tour is also organised.
 School Visits
We believe it is important that school children in forms
3, 4, and 5 at Secondary Level learn about the use
of archives. Such an experience can add to the enthusiasm
to learn about our country's past. What the archives
demands is that teachers request a permission in
writing
and specify the type of records around which the
visit is to focus. Then it is expected that the teacher/s
in
question visit the archives and discuss the proceedings
of the visit with the Head of the Archives. During
the actual visit, it must be guaranteed that the teacher
runs that class and that this does not in any way
create any inconvenience to the other concurrent research
activities.
