Photocopying
- When a researcher requests photocopies of Library
material, Library staff shall, before any payment is made
by the researcher, ensure that the material is in a proper
condition to be photocopied. This regulation does not entitle
any researcher to obtain photocopies of Library material
which is not in a proper condition to be photocopied even
if he/she has already effected payment.
- The Library does not permit photocopying of:
- Pre-1850 material.
- Bulky material.
- Material larger than A3 open.
- Material with fine
binding, pullouts larger than cover pages or with
torn, brittle, loose or
missing pages, broken
sewing, tightly bound and deteriorating covers.
- Manuscripts,
rare books and newspapers.
- Any other material
which, in the opinion of the Director, it is not
proper to photocopy.
- The Library may restrict photocopying
to no more than 10% of any material
for reasons of
preservation
of same
material.
- Copies of the items mentioned
in point (b) may be made only from microfilms
and not from
the originals.
If a microfilm
is not available, the reader may
order one against extra payment, or may have
a scanned
copy depending
on the
size of the original.
- No order for
photocopies, microfilms or scans is executed unless paid
for in advance.
Orders
may be
placed and
paid for between 08:15 hrs and
12:00 hrs between 16th June and
30th September and additionally
from 13:30 hrs to 16:00 hrs between 1st
October and
15th June.
- The fee for photocopies
at the Library is of 10c in respect of
each A4 size
page and
15c in respect
of each
A3 size page.
- The fee for microfilming
and scanning at the Library is of
Lm 2.50 per
volume plus 10c
per
frame.
- The fee for duplicating
a microfilm from negative
to positive
is of
Lm15 per film.
